Welcome
Brookhaven Kennels originally started in Ohio over 30 years ago, from a love of hunting and hunting with bird dogs.
The move to Montana came after having a very successful boarding and training facility in Ohio, to going one step more and doing what you enjoy so much, to being able to train bird dogs the old fashion way, on wild birds. Very few places offer the ability to do that anymore. Yet we are most fortunate as we have pheasant, Hungarian partridge, sharp tail and sage grouse, plus all the mountain grouse in our training areas.
We are working very closely with some of the best breeders of Llewellin Setters and Chesapeake Bay Retrievers in the world.
We will be offering a few times a year totally trained Llewellin Setters hunting companions. Brookhaven Kennels training will be taking other hunting dogs for training at very limited numbers. It is our belief, you cannot train great hunting companions without giving them lots of unlimited time and love.

Our Facilities
Our bird dog training facilities are the best available in this area of Montana.
The kennels are heated, sanitary, and roomy. The dogs have plenty of room for exercise and training in the immediate area.
The training grounds start right out the front door of the kennel area and extended as far as the eye can see.
There are two rivers, numerous ponds, and marshes in the area to train water retriever breeds of dogs. It's really a great area to train Llewellin Setters and other breeds of gun dogs.

Our puppies come
from great Llewellin Setter
mothers
with outstanding field and hunting ability. Our setters are hunted on
the
average of 60 days to 80 days per year. We are all about preserving and
improving on the qualities and attributes that make Llewellin Setters
the great dog they are.
Our studs are selected like the mothers on natural ability traits. All our dogs are our personal hunting companions.
Our discriminating breeding program ensures that our puppies will have the temperament, conformation and natural instincts to make great hunting companion.

Just got a Chesapeake puppy that we are training for our personnel use. SHE IS GOING TO BE A GOOD ONE!! We have named her Nutmeg.
